Alone
ALONE
Passing a shop window
I look the other way
Fear of my reflection
Alone again this day
A table set for four or five
I can be and entertain
But a table laid for two
Is too lonely, I abstain
A wedding invitation
Arrives with a plus one
No longer Mr and Mrs
An excuse now to be spun
Each night to our bedroom
I force myself to go
My heart is full of sadness
Of this loneliness I know
Arms hang idle by my sides
Missing your every touch
Holding hands connected us
Each time held a loving crutch
On the day you left this earth
Sent another world to grace
I knew there would never be
Another to fill your place
