Almost But Not Quite

Thrown a lifeline
To pull us ashore
Arrogance declines
The ego scores

Water near freezing
Not quite yet ice
Latent heat transforming
Matter in a trice

Eons of conditioning
Buried in the subconscious
Gurus grace uplifting
Makes ascension instantaneous

Mere recognition not freedom
It simply plots trajectory
To enter into a Gods kingdom
We need to rewrite our story

Dare we?

I like your poem very much! The way I interpret it is that some are lost in a frozen pond, thrown a lifeline, yet they refuse out of a ego. That we are given a choice - to "rewrite our story" or not. If that's not the meaning you intended - well it was the meaning I got. And I liked it! But I always did like somewhat ambiguous writing that allows me to put my own interpretations on it. Well done!
