Allowed To Be Sad

Although I know it comes from a place of good intention.
It may fall short for a broken heart intervention.
Some people try to stop us from showing it when we're feeling bad.
But they need to know that we're allowed to be sad.

There are those of us whose losses are many.
Compared to those who barely have any.
Some hold back the tears with all of their might.
While some of us just let them flow and we have every right.

Just because some things to you would be no big deal.
Doesn't give you the right to dictate as to how others should feel.
It could be because the pain we feel is something of which you haven't a clue.
But keep in mind that it's only a matter of time before these things may happen to you.

Only when all you have are memories of things you once had.
Will you truly understand why some of us are allowed to be sad.

Great insight and wisdom in these words. We as a people need to be more sympathetic to those who have been through so much.

I can relate to this 100% - I try and wear a smile but my father is terminally ill and sometimes the mask slips - show your emotions it does us no good in the long run to bottle them up - a 7 from me - wish it could be a 10! Hugs jan xx
