All We Do Is Spin
Round and round, back and forth, back to where we have been
The race is on, no one wants to lose, but neither can anyone win
So much to do, so little time, get out there then get back in
From north to south, on the axis of Earth; it seems all we do is spin
The morning comes; madness begins, hassling through thick and thin
The pursuit of happiness; summer, fall and winter; all the way back to spring
Everyone is anxious, barley getting by, wondering what tomorrow will bring?
At home, at work, through the park and back; all we do is spin
Indoors doing chores, all is a bore, but you can check the news bulletin
Or get glued to your phone, what’s the latest trend, on that social media scene
Trash in trash out, from your computer to your kitchen, empty the recycle bin
High tech communication, but no one to talk to: All we do is spin
You must be a citizen, a taxpayer at least; it’s not enough to be a human being
Pay this bill, pay the other one, and don’t forget your password and pin
Be a lover too, till death do you part, with pride wear that wedding ring
Get married, get divorced; raise some kids to do the same. All we do is spin
Go to the clinic, you are not well, fix it all with some medicine
Go to church, repent your sins, listen to the choir sing
Go to the bar, make new friends, drink some whisky or gin
Don’t worry if you get drunk and stagger home: All we do is spin
Round and round, back and forth, back to where we have been
The race is on, no one wants to lose, but neither can anyone win
So much to do, so little time, get out there then get back in
From north to south, on the axis of Earth; it seems all we do is spin
