ALL THE WORLD?
All the world’s a stage and all the men and women merely players – As You Like It: Act II Sc VII.
“All the world’s a stage and all the men and women merely players.”
Thus spake Jaques in reflective mood,
And that concept gave me food
For thought.
If the world was a stage,
What would you call the theatre,
The Globe?
And then I went on to probe
Other questions raised.
If all the men and women were merely players,
Where would you find a director?
Who would be the audience
And where would they sit
If the whole world’s the stage?
I’m sorry Will, I may be dense
But that soliloquy is sans sense.
