All That We Hold Dear

lost inside my burning tears
swallowed by my mortal fears
lost inside myself i hear
i'm losing all that i hold dear

left inside the day to come
staring into past daylights
see you gazing at the sun
soon eclipse will show the nights

showing now that we have gone
lost inside a splintered soul
ourself we've lost inside the sun
find us again when we are whole

gone forever night has come
to view the beauty of the rose
i find solace within the gun
waiting for my life to close

fighting for our freedoms now
searching for our reasons how
we find ourself within our tear
losing all that we hold dear

and as we stare into the stars
the show the strings, and see the scars
