All That We Are

your eyes are partially open, I know you look at me
what is it I can I offer, something that you need
everyone is looking, blindly they can't see
but I am seeing into you, and you into me

in your darkest hour, will you reach for me?
do you feel me next to you, when everything seems most gray?
when the night grows long, do you think of me?
do you see me in the sunset and at the break of day?

is there any room--room for me there inside?
I think I saw a glimpse once, a glimpse inside your heart
will it ever come, can it be happily ever after?
where the shadows fall--I see all that we are
