All That Gilters
Not all roses are red, not all
friends are faithful,
not all that are bright and
beautiful are blissful,
Life is a bunch of super
things build on nothing;
so not all that is cute and
colourful is worth craving.
Not all men are gentlemen,
not all ladies are lovely,
as the rich also cry, the
poor can also be lively,
life's true worth is not
what we see with our eyes;
just as the stars are not as
we see them in the skies.
Beauty and boldness are
nothing but face-view,
the content of a man's
charater is his real value;
fortune and fame will one
day fall and fade away;
what lingers long are the
legacies of love we lay...
Not all the liquids that are
delightful are drinkable,
not all the fresh fruits in
the forest are edible,
it is not all that gilters with
great glamour is gold;
watch and walk wisely so
you do not get cold.
