All Is Ready To Thaw

tender snowflakes sing soft ivory melodies-
pines capped in love's rhythm-
a rocky mount embraces the depth of december,
all seems calm, all seems right-
but
there’s too much time to see the winter white

i sit and see what used to be beautiful,
like mother nature’s solace after the chill

“free me inside the brisk of ice,
allow my senses to feel a dawn of frost-
for i have been ‘round this bend thrice,
and now all that was bound to love is lost”

lovely once,
now ready to thaw-
ease the way into a path leading to warmth;
if i cannot become who they wish,
i may find care somewhere love isn’t cold

“believe in me with ivory snowflakes, tender,
contentment is deserved when pain prevails-
pine capped in love’s rhythm, do i surrender?
winter's heart is no more…
                    for it weeps and wails”
