All I Had

I felt the love and warmth 
As mother and baby went strolling by. 
I see them now
And it makes me cry.

It was always fun 
Going out with a friend.
Now I can’t wait
For the moment to end.

I don’t know what happened 
To change all these things.
But I sure miss the happiness
They used to bring.

Waking up in the morning 
What a beautiful day!
Now in my bed
That’s where I’ll stay.

Dropping everything 
To run to the phone.
Now I have voice mail
So leave me alone.

I don’t know who took all the happy things
And changed them to sad.
But please bring them back,
I miss them so bad.
