All God's Creatures

One day on a walking trail, I crushed to death a helpless snail. The crunching sound under my feet, caused my heart to skip a beat. Why feel bad, you might say? It's just a snail that got in your way. But a life is a life, no matter how small. And I thank my God, for making us all!

So I guess I was right! They are part of the food chain. Thanks for your answer, Jan, and I am sorry about your plants.

The thrushes and also hedgehogs eat them i often find the empty shells in the garden so they do serve some purpose apart from wrecking all my tender plants:-) hugs jan xxx

They do cause a lot of damage to plants. I agree! And yes, it is the most dreadful sound when you step on one. Eve wondered, and so do I what their purpose is here? Do you know? God must have his reasons. Could they be food for other bugs? Just guessing. But that would be a terrible reason for their existence?

Good write Darlene, I walk my dog around the yard and sometimes I will feel and hear that crunch I usually think yuck but you're right God did make as all and they must have a purpose in the ecosystem.

I didn't mean to make you feel guilty, Eve, because I believe most of us have had this experience. But my purpose was to make others stop and think about this situation, and by your reaction, I think I succeeded! Blessings, Darlene
