Aliens Took Her In the Summer of 97

Aliens took her in the summer of 1997 She had nearly forgotten them Incorporating her experiences in her dreams Pretending it did not happen So she could remain free and unchained She remembered waking up on their table Being examined by creatures with bulb like heads She sometimes sees the dark brown orbs peering As the aliens picked up her appendages one by one Dropping her flesh with disdain as they dismissed each Aliens took her in the summer of 1997 They took pieces she has never been able to salvage They took her feelings of safety and her peace They took her carefreeness and her uninhibited ways Causing her to constantly be on guard and aware She dared not speak of her abduction If she wanted to stay free and normal So she kept it to herself and it worried no one Giving others the false sense of well-being She had lost in the summer of 1997
