Ah What the Duck

Joey died late today He fell out of the sky He met a cruel fate that way Although I don't why He used to make a quacking sound That always raised a smile Tilt his head to look at me Made me giggle like a child In the morning he would come And spend sunrise with me Later on if things looked good He'd head on out to sea He always left me feeling good Except today I'm sad How could people be so cruel To do a deed so bad Some cowards crouching in the swamp Too camouflaged to see Shot poor Joey from the sky And killed a part of me Joey died late today He fell out of the sky He met a cruel fate that way Although I don't know why
