Aging

Contorted like an acrobat
And writing in great pain
The spirit strives for greatness
The body doesn’t do the same

Achievement was so easy
And now it’s filled with strife
What ordeals befall us
In this uncertain life

We used to breeze through pitfalls
We used to bear the aches
Resilience upheld us
When we would make mistakes

But now the road’s not easy
And doesn’t feel the same
Our goal’s a contradiction
But no one is to blame

Resist our new condition
And bring us renewed hope
And we will test resistance
Despite what we are told

age, something we really never think of until our knees hurt, the eyes aren't as sharp, a lot of things start to show up, but wouldn't change it for the world, nice poem, poet

That is so true. We really take a lot for granted. Thank you so much for the feedback. I truly appreciate it!
