Hi, Norman. You might want to use the Poetry Soup "Syllable Counter." It is very helpful for haiku and senryu; and, other poems which require a set number of syllables per line.

There's a web site you might like, NaHaiWriMo9 National Haiku Writing Month). They're leader getting of the 5-7-5 rule, which comes from a mistranslation of the Japanese word Morea .
