Age (Possible Rap)

This Is Called 'Age' It Can Be Read As A Rap Or Poem. Not Sure Which I Like More.

Whats with this hype on age
its not like it matters when both young and old are turning the page
every day a new page is written in life
but your mind decides when the books end is right
age defines nothing
not the knowledge in us
nor does age help to relpel love
age doesnt determin your wisdom at all
you can know things, see things
that others do not, when you just begin to crawl
why is it that a toddler can see true love at first sight
but someone who is older, with their feelings they must fight
yes many that are young dont learn these lessons yet
but then there are older people who seem to completly forget
take some time and think of these words
dont judge every one by age in this mixed up world

Personally I believe in reincarnation which means everyone on earth is a lot older then they think they are. Then the lessons we learned in prior lifetimes carry over with us to this one where we can more readily spot things like love and wisdom because it has an unconscious resonance that we can't really put our finger on but at the same time is clear as daylight. Do you rap by the way? That would be something else if I heard this with a hip hop beat behind it.

You surely are right about toddlers knowing "love at first sight." When we're older, we're more afraid of admitting our feelings. Wisdom does not always come with age...sometimes we only get wrinkles. There's a lot of truth in this thoughtful write! Love, Carolyn

Bravo! Love this, Boo! Age does not always equal wisdom, and youth does not always equal lack of wisdom. Well done! Donna
