Against the Evil One

I run from the living and the dead
Barely sleeping I just hang on in darkened dread
For the visions that haunt me
Bounce around in my head wanting to be free

As the sun rises in the east
I remember the prophetic words of the priest
What is more is what you wanted least
And the longing is the heartbeat of the beast

So debonair as it wanders in the night
As people bolt their doors defending right
For to be caught would be the end
Against the Evil One it’s hard to defend.
