Again No Joy Awaits Me

Again no joy awaits me after having known how fate sways thoughts and makes one surrender quickly without any words of regret; can one be persuaded with a threat? Again no joy awaits me after the deceitful lines are read: would rebellion change anything? Which is the strongest adversary: destiny or death? Have you fought with one of them without falling facedown? Again no joy awaits me after the lonely dreams turned into complete dust losing all their magic, putting an end to another dream, to all I deemed was conceivable! Again no joy awaits me after the crimson evening sets sky and ocean aglow; how lonely is the golden dandilions' field resembling the soft hair of Angelica, but more sorrowful is her grieving soul! You express so well, that sad, sorrowful feeling of hopelessness and despair. We all experience it from time to time and reading a powerful poem like this can help us to heal.. We know that we're not alone and many others suffer as we do.

Good afternoon. It's nice to meet you. Your comment has lifted my spirit and made me realize that i am not the only one to feel this way about life. I hope your day is going well and you are staying safe. Thank you for your kind comment. Sorrow is part of life and we can't ignore it, and although it darkens our thoughts making us cry in desperation, it also teaches us how to cope with life. Have a wondeful day and smile. Your PoetrySoup friend, Andrew.

wow this is so lovely and also so sad, Andrew. Facing personal trials, I often feel there is no hope for the strange condition I was cursed with, but I try to get through each day enjoying my many blessings. Maybe you can soupmail me sometime and tell me what is up with you and who Angelica might be (my daughter is an Angela. I love those kinds of names)

Hi, Andrea. Thank you for your kind comment on my poem. I think fate is a condition we must live with and if we try to change, it may be catastrophic. I have tried to change but it but to no vail. I blame myself for being too hard on myself. I have learned that forgiveness is love and in loving myself others I can find the peace I seek. Enjoy your day,be well and stay safe with your family.
