Afternoon With the Ducks

Afternoon with The Ducks

I sat down on a wooden bench
In the park one Scorching Summer day
It was hot It was humid
I decided to write anyway
Angry thoughts in my mind
Feelings of frustration
Needed to unwind
As I worked on a scene from my pretend play
The intensity of my thoughts drifted away
I looked up from my yellow notebook
A pair of Ducks approached me
I had to take a second look
This odd pair of Mallards
Started flapping their wings
Their quacking in unison
Sounded like they were trying to sing
This fowl twosome were quite entertaining
I no longer felt the need for complaining
So if you feel your life is in flux
Spend an afternoon with the Ducks

I love it, nature can be soothing, I raise birds and with my morning coffee and them singing I don't have a care in the world
