Afternoon Fix

Caffeinate all of these jittery dreams
blurring reality's lines through the steam
Caustic in blood if you know what I mean
burnt in the grounds on my lips
Just one more cup shouldn't hurt me that much
making my skin grip my muscles to blood
Warming my throat in an impending flood
afternoon espresso kiss.
I can't be caught in a photo today
I'm moving so fast I'd just blur into grey
One more thing only that I've got to say:
Please pour me another sweet afternoon fix
and melt all my languishing dreams right away...
