Aftermath

Love remains as scars on my soul
Torn apart by life’s vicious twist
The shape of you cuts a void in my whole

Toys stare blankly frosted with dust
Your hushed room sealed in time
My tears are the companion I trust

Kissing cold pictures and talking to the breeze
Trapped in the horror of my thoughts
Whilst searching for a warm memory to squeeze

Messages from you do love impart
In wasted days and ruined lives
The curtains have closed and so has my heart
