After the Goldrush

After the gold rush
The end of desire
Passion has died
So has the fire
Time to move on
Start over again
Spent too much time
In the wind and the rain
Find me a spot
Where its warm
And its dry
Take time to reflect
Wipe the tear from my eye
Some folks, they tell me
Your never too old
Gonna buy me a spade
Go diggin’ fer gold

It's interesting the way you compare the death of passion to the end of a gold rush. And "some folks" are right. "You're never too old" to "Go diggin' fer gold" so keep that passion alive, John. Great poem that reveals much about your heart. Love, Carolyn
