After Some Time

Now that time is quiet
I’ve had a chance to think
It’s still fresh in my mind
How life can end in a blink

We have no way of knowing
Why our time will come
All that we can hope for
Is a better end than some

We’re the ones left behind
We have it harder I know
The memories that they leave us
Should help to soften the blow

The impression that we keep
That we hold in our mind
The lessons that they taught us
Will go on forever in time

Ones we’ll pass to our children
And to their children as well
Memories in life to get us through
The times we feel like hell

So remember them forever
Remember the constant love
Remember that their watching
All of us from above
