After Reading Because I Could Not Stop For Death

Because my love is far away-
she is not by my side.
The thing that keeps me apart from her-
is she lives on the other side.

I see her just once a year
the time apart seems- forever.
Through I don't have much Fear-
I Fear to lose her endeavor.

I think of her day to day,
Waiting to see her again.
Through wanting to call-
I am just too shy.

I have lost my other Loves
and could not bear to let this one go.
I would cross the world for her-
and her to be my Lover- for all Eternity.

This is one of my favorite poems by Emily Dickinson, Eric. "Because I could not stop for death, he kindly stopped for me. The carriage held but just ourselves and immortality." I can see her inspiration in your poem! Love, Carolyn
