After I'M Gone

I write my poems, for my son to see
How lucky he's him, and he is not me
I want him to see, what life's been for me
And I hope he can see, why I am never free

He sees my pain, he don't know my life
And when I lose it, there could be a fight
I dont like bullies, I think they should pay
But I learned through violence, its the only way

When I am dead, and when I am gone
I hope my words, can be part of your song
I know I am not bad, i am trying to be good
Ye I know I didn't do, as I know I should

With him in my world, I do see the light
And I done my best for his life to be bright
I love my son with all my heart
I know he will hurt, when its time to part

I will be there, wherever he goes
My light will shine, as his life grows
I will be there, watching from above
And when he reads my poems
HE will see he was loved

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Ken, hope you are well, wherever you are, and you describe something difficult for all parents...that we have to leave our children behind. It's a very sad part of life indeed. Time does go by, sir!
