Fading from this earth I am A mere shadow in the sky. As my image disappears Through the white clouds flying high. Do not weep because you see In your heart with you I stay, Locked within your memory.

Christine, this poem is a gentle and comforting reflection on loss and remembrance. The imagery of fading like a shadow among clouds beautifully conveys the transient nature of life, while the assurance of staying locked within the heart offers solace. A tender and heartfelt piece.

I went a bit different way with mine but we both used the clouds. In reference to your comment on our shared wins in a certain contest. I consider it a loss. Geeez

This short poem is deeply moving and beautifully written. It manages to speak of departure without evoking fear, and of remembrance without clinging to sorrow. It’s tender, mature, and very human. Well done.
