Delice Arleen Skelly Poet Couplet

After August

Farewell August you sizzled so well
We felt like denizens of deepest hell
Without cool breeze night or day
I wish for September without delay.

Well autumn is here still no reprieve
Muggy and warm it's hard to breathe
Nature's rotation will not be delayed
Russet leaves fall a beautiful cascade.

Flowers of September past their best
Time to wither ~ well needed rest
Underground summer finally asleep
Harvest is waiting crops to be reaped.
