After All This Time
In all these years I thought you were gone,
I grieved for you and prayed for the strength that
I could and would go on.
I hoped and prayed that this was just a bad dream,
That I would open my eyes and life would go on as it had been.
But unfortunately that was not to be,
For when I opened my eyes I was brought back to reality.
And so I face all this time all alone,
Searching and hoping for a place where I can belong.
In the distance I hear the mountains call out to me,
Saying over and over come to the mountains my lady.
They beckon me to come home,
To come home where I belong.
It is there I know you’re waiting for me,
Waiting on the mountain for your lady.
