Afraid To Breathe

The tick tock of the clock
Never stops
In quiet trepidation
My heart doesn't beat, it knocks
Insomniac and mind tripping
I see my life slipping
I want to breathe in air
Never again be scared
But the only thing that clings to me
Is constant worry and despair

Welcome to the soup! I've read several of your poems tonight. They all touched on many of the more difficult aspects of living. Given the number of poems you posted on your first two days, I'm going to be watching for more. Jack

Your poem is fantastic, Madelin. The situation you are in doesn't sound so good. Hope things get better. Love, Kim
