Afraid of My Love? Or Them?

How come you’re not here?
Do you run from me in fear?
Life isn’t scary
At least with someone very
Patient and loving
But you’re one for shoving,
So I think I should be scared
Because you never really cared.
Running away solves nothing,
Like crying doesn’t solve a thing.
Maybe with you gone,
I’ll sing to a new song.

But maybe you’re scared of the cops
Pulling into the driveway to stop
The abuse that you give me.
You’ll never see what I see.
