Afflicted

Afflicted

countless souls are rotting
and howling in the night
suffering from the wounds they call
indulging in delight

selfishly we rot away
thinking we're all right
while everyone who watches us
is sickened by the sight

one by one we're dropping
in a never ending plight
never knowing the hate we breed
while running from the light

my soul keeps getting weaker
from putting up a fight
how come when I know it's wrong
I cannot do what’s right
