Adulthood
Anxious he really was
Of age to be
Of liberties to take
Little did he know what it would take
So now he sees
For now he is
It’s just a struggle to live better
It’s just a struggle to die better
Sunrise after sunrise
Days on end
For himself he lives
For others he struggles
Now he wishes
In teenage he would’ve stayed
For then into trouble he freely ran
Now earnestly into him the troubles freely ran
He feels cheated out of life
For he finds no glory in endless struggle
He struggles to be happy
Happiness struggles to evade him
How he wishes for the days he dreamt
For today’s worries of tomorrow torment him
How he wishes he could turn back the time
Of childhood’s specialties he would never relent
