Adult In the Making
Many years in the making
Of living but constantly shaking.
Extreme, traumatic, damage
Within always ravage.
Where, which way, how to go
Is constant in mind with no real show.
Who is to blame
We were minors what a shame.
False laughter and excitement
At the smallest inkling of happiness was an experiment.
Cried and rock to sleep, nervousness what’s the use
But awoken by unrest and abuse.
Forever in our minds remain,
Affects in our life and path stunts our gain.
Grown up, scarred, and lost, and stained,
Within our lives damage reigned.
Relationships, love, just life as attempted
Only to be disappointed, hurt, too scarred further tempted.
Brothers and sisters, our own way,
Trying to follow the warm sun ray.
Forever remembering,
Difficult to forgive, inside trembling.
Little reminisces of happiness of the past,
Come through and show us as true but can’t last.
We are not who we are,
But what is left after life’s scar.
Some make it some don’t,
The loss, more pain, emptiness but won’t,
Give up as inside a promise,
To our own grow with love, no scars before demise,
A fresh start to new flesh and mind,
To continue happy life, without a halt grind.
This is a wish for life without deep pain,
For our loved ones never forget the past, and us disdain.
Go forth and grow in love and show,
All around that didn’t know,
The past life that changed us and made not blind
To enable our strength of mind.
The decisions to teach right from wrong,
And know where weakness was and what was strong.
Let the curve of life look up not down,
Never forget as we have shown.
We have love but deep,
Inside, we are too scared to always awake from sleep.
