Adrift
Adrift
I found myself adrift
alone out on the sea
a leaky boat
no overcoat
and very little brie
The tide began to shift
great waves engulfing me
they pulled me down
without a sound
and I could not swim free
But low there was a rift--
a crack in time--to be
a way to win
and to begin
returning from the sea...
