Adieu

They say that love, well it transcends whatever.
But apparently whoever said that was not all that clever.

Because there are distances that love cannot cross.
There are times when it's at a loss.

There are breaks that love cannot mend.
And there are rules that it cannot bend.

We can't come to terms though try as we might.
Not worth the battle if you lose it all in the fight.

So with a heart that is heavy I will bid you adieu.
And regret for the rest of my life the day I met you.
