Addiction's Promise
I have a promise,
I will make to you.
I promise I will make you do things,
You don't want to do.
The more you
consume me,
The greater
your losses will be.
I promise to take,
Your home, your money.
I will take all that is,
Warm and sunny.
I will mar your character,
your reputation too.
Your good name,
I will take that from you.
I will take your car,
I will take your wealth,
I will take your job,
I will destroy your health.
I will take your watch,
I will take your chain.
I will take your sun,
I will leave you out in the rain.
I will take your credit,
I will send you to jail.
I will take it all,
You can't post bail.
I will bring regret, remorse,
And more pain.
I will cause you to hang
Your head in shame.
I will bring you misery,
I will bring you woe.
I will bring trouble,
More than you know.
I will take your clothes,
I will strip them from you.
The necessities of life,
I will take them too.
I will take the days,
I will take the years.
I will leave you desolate,
I will triple your tears.
I will own your heart,
I will turn it to stone.
I will make you walk thru
This world alone.
I will take your desire,
To live alright.
I will take your sunshine,
I will darken the light.
The road to despair,
I will pave.
I will send you to a
Premature grave.
I will take your family,
I will take your friends.
I will trouble your mind,
To the very end.
I will bring heartache,
I will bring strife.
I will finish you off,
By taking your life.
