Addiction

Adrenaline allure - tense -

Defies the calm of common sense.

Disguised in a myriad of forms,

Ignores the gravity of norms.

Creative in exhaustive lies,

Twists into pain in loved ones' eyes.

Incessant conflict gnaws within,

Ongoing battle, hard to win.

Never retreat to beat the foe.

Great acrostic, Maggie. I too wrote a poem entited "Addiction" but it is not an acrostic.
