Ad Vicinus Meum

From the heart of a young man is love beyond his flesh
When he sees not with his eyes nor feels he his heart’s hard press
Past the dark stage of infatuation’s embolus
Beyond the occlusion of thought and hurt's harsh retrogress

When he knows the wisdom of God that’s endured through time
Echoed in the hearts of humans with sentiments sublime
Within us is a code written not by hands of men
The soul wrenching steel drive inside to care and give again

Reasons taken for granted, not needing to know why
He wholly gives the life to you that lies ‘hind his green eyes
