Across a Room

laser light shows reflect and glare
spaced out drunks leave right now
smoke apears from down the stairs
avenging angles make amends

stare at you on the dance floor
stare at you and then once more
eyes of passion look of pain
i would die to know your name

you and i across a room
one with joy one in gloom
you watch me as i watch you
and yet you dance the night away
in the shadows content i stay

and so another week passes by
another week without a smile
as i walk into our bar
i turn around and there you are

you smiled at me and asked my name
made me happy forget the pain
and so we danced the night away the week the month the whole decade
and when i look across a room i dream of you my fate my wife
i am for filled this is my life
