Acoustic Shadows

I hear these voices inside my head
A clairvoyant mind can read the dead
I see them out of the corner of my eye
Oh tepid spirit, why can’t you fly?
They make a noise in the other room
They come and go like an April bloom
Some live in darkness while some live in light
Depends who I hear in the middle of the night
A gift and a curse to hear the unseen
I sage my whole house to clear the unclean
Blessing the living, blessing the dead
It seems they all live in the back of my head
I offer a candle, a flame for the lost
I offer a prayer to help these souls cross
The other side is where they need to be
But for now I guess they belong with me..
