Acknowledge Him

Oft times just to get our attention,
A speed bump appears in our path.
Perhaps God sees us starting to drift,
And in danger of incurring his wrath;
Maybe it’s just a directional change,
In keeping with His uncorrupted will;
When we neglect to read our Bibles,
We miss lessons He desires to instill.
Perchance it’s something we’re doing,
Or while facing a gut wrenching choice;
Speed bumps are akin to caution signs,
Meant to slow us so we’ll heed His voice;
