Acceptance

Acceptance

These eyes of mine are opening - slowly closing on the dreams
I have woven, – dreams of hope and happiness, it now seems,
are coming to an end, just like this summer of glorious elations.
I feel there is nothing more – no reason for further expectations
as I feel you slipping back – to what once was – into the shadows.
I cherish summers joy, it’s pleasure – lost ?, where ?, - who knows.

I feel – for you – I hold no intrigue, no fascination,
no passion, no attraction, no inspiration
– so many restrictions, so many contradictions –
flows from these waters deep, for the one I know not.
I do still – even though I know – want to give all I got
to you – evenings filled with the most beautiful sun sets
this old world has ever known, a world without the frets
that come in twilight hours, in the darkest of nights,
during the midnight hour, in early mornings lights,
all those hues painted across the face of dawn,
colours one can bring into your life, brightly shone
upon your heart, your soul and into your spirit.
Under rainbow coloured skies, with you I’d love to sit.

Love Bill .
