Accept Me As I Am
There are those who love and also those who hate.
Delusions of grandeur I will never myself create.
I am nobody special, I will never claim to be.
I’m misunderstood by many and hated by at least three.
I admit to being human, many things I handle wrong.
I’m adapting and I’m learning, I’ll eventually come along.
I fight for what I believe, approval I do not seek.
I accept what I deserve, sometimes mild but never meek.
Take me as I am, what you see is what you get.
I’ll never run and hide I settle every debt.
I’ll ask for your forgiveness if I ever do you wrong.
I love my Lord and God my faith is very strong.
This is where I pray in these poems that I write.
I may not go to church, but I’m still in his saving light.
I know that I have sinned, I’m but a mortal man.
Please forgive me Jesus and accept me as I am.
