About the Mayan Doomsday Calendar

A lot of gullible people got quite a scare
By a preacher saying the end was there
To know that is certainly not in his power
Because nobody can know the day or hour
As if we hadn’t heard enough of that before
A strange Mayan calendar has folks in a roar
It shows that the end of the world’s next year
And that has many quaking in greatest fear
But those violent pagans had no way to know
When, into destruction, this world would go
That, even God’s son and angels are unaware
So why with ancient Mayans would he share?
Reasonable, sensible possibilities we have to face
Maybe with 2012, the Mayan had used up the space
Or, like other religious frauds, the calendar maker
Developed the calendar to sell and was a profit-taker
So, do I think the prophecy will fail? Of course!
For one thing, it is coming from the wrong source
And if about such an event they could foretell,
Why didn’t they see their own downfall as well?
