I've exaggerated things a bit iin lines 1 - 2 in order to use the words needed for this contest; however, it's very true that my mother felt herself the "odd duck" in her family - someone who was just different from everyone else. She did not feel she was as loved as her other sisters and this gave her a low self-esteem, which she compensated for by becoming very good at house cleaning!  She is an eccentric person who loves her habits and is compulsive about them. Though she and I have very different tastes and habits, i  think I got from her that same kind of drive for going all out for the things I love!

As a child, my mom would feel condemnation. If not that, then apathy from her mom instead. Though this often gave her consternation, it was by reverence for unearthliness that she was led. With a predilection for tuning into God, she found her path, and by the Scriptures she’s been awed. Encompassed by her faith, by the Spirit she is fed. Hi Andrea, Saw your comment to Debbie and thought its a while since we visited. My Mom and I were the closest mom and daughter ever, but after my dad died (he was only 64 when he died) she took over the role of a stern Patriarch! Her whole character changed which sadly drew us a little apart. I still loved and love her very much (she died 20 years after my father and never re-married) but sometimes feel guilty that I lost my way with her a little! Enjoyed your write enormously, xoxo, JP
