Abandoned Roads On the Sands of Time

Listen to poem:
Abandoned Roads on the Sands of Time
David J Walker

Inherent the stolen lands
	Claimed and abandoned
By forgotten hands

Inventory incomplete
Innocence replete
with sin

And/then
           do it again
		        And again

Believing in steepleless and
Invented gods
At odds
	With the believingless peopleless
Congregations

Inherent the swollen lands
		And stolen simple
the supple surplus plans

the inventories of
	  back stories of
successes and excesses

the hungry hands form lines
at the backdoor kitchenettes

of abandoned trailer courts
along the roads of the
sands of time
