Abandoned

The quiet cuts deep in the emptiness that is remaining

Leaving only the ache of what’s pertaining

To the bond that was once shared

A romantic tryst that is now impaired

You left without a word

Not even the door to be heard

I sit and wait for your return

With only time to burn

Knowing like in the past

Only the loneliness will last

And I am once again left behind

Abandoned to my own mind
