Abandon

Poet:  Ken Jordan
Poem:  Abandon

Do
you know

what
it's like

to
feel
abandon(?)

 It's
like

you're here,
but
not here -

Your life
is
a twilight zone.

You're alway's
unsure
and
insecure -

Thinking
that

you're on
the
outside,

where
all curtains,

to
the inside

are
drawn -

it's
like,

your
mental state
is
gone,

and
there's
no way home -

You're
guarded,

even
to the one's

that
love you
most -

Trust
and
loyalty

goes out
the
window -

You feel
hopeless,

inside
yourself......

Inside

where
no one

can
find you -

You say
that's

where
you
feel safe,

Inside
your own
mind.

And
everyday

you
walk around
in
silence,

feeling empty;
alone -

separated
from family -

separated
from faith -

Do you know
what
it's like

to be
 invisible(?)
