A Year Ago Today

A YEAR AGO TODAY

It hardly seems a year ago today
Since Jesus took you quietly away.
Each time I think of all the memories,
Emotions well and my tears will run free.
I think about you now away up there
In that great land so brilliant and so fair,
A land you often wrote your songs about,
Where now you really sing and really shout.
I’ll bet they’re singing with you right along,
“Hiding In The Rock,” or another of your songs.
My greatest joy, Dad, now that you’ve gone away
Is that we’ll meet again some happy day!

--Memory of my dad
One year after his death
