A Writer's Prayer

Let me have a vision today, That others may read what I want to say. For the gift You have given to me, Help me, Lord, for others to see. Words are like the arrows in a quiver on my back, Let each hit its target with its loud "THWACK". For if I miss the mark with each, How will I ever give voice to my speach? And when the time is there to read, Let me open my mind to their words, I plead. For just as I would have others understand, I wish to know the thoughts that they command. We are all mixed into this wordy bowl of soup, And our time and talents with each one we recoup. I want not to waste Your gift to me, Rather I would have others know who I be. I can only do so through Your daily grace, For the writer's gift You've given us to embrace. Let me not bury my small talent in the ground, But perfect it for others, while I'm still around. And I pray that You bless my fellow writers, too, For the talents we have come only from You. Each in his way works to Your call, Reading their thoughts makes me feel so small. Yet the Giant within me leaps when the words come, I pray each day, that You let us have some. For all that we know, feel, and believe, Come from Your bestowed graces which we receive. My thoughts are of them today, Give voice to their words, each in his way. Thank You, Lord, for their words I read today, Help me to write mine as worthy, I pray!

The words come when God grands writers the gift to "embrace" their thoughts, Daniel. A lovely, spiritual poem. I am trying to find some of the others. Love, Carolyn
